Busy

TOO BUSY?
During the summer months, our lives can get especially busy. Lawn maintenance, gardening, spring-cleaning, special projects, sports activities, camping, vacations and other warm-weather events tend to fill our days to the max.
Although we may view this as “normal”, we need to exercise caution. Family relations frequently suffer in the summer as the abundance of activities can interfere with our relationships with spouses, children, and friends.
Even worse, there is an increasing tendency to put God (and His church) on the “back burner” during summer months. Some surveys indicate that Christians spend less time in Bible Study and prayer from June through September. Moreover, Bible class and worship attendance also tends to decline in summer. Tragically, many congregations even cancel evening services during the summer.
While we may be busy this summer, if we are too busy for God and family, we are “TOO BUSY”. And unless we do something about it, we will regret it. God MUST remain on top of our list every day. Jesus said, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)
"Too Busy"
Too busy to read the Bible, too busy to wait and pray.
Too busy to speak a kindly word to someone by the way!
Too busy to care and serve, to think of life to come.
Too busy building mansions, to plan for heaven’s home.
Too busy to help a brother, or hear his lonely sigh,
Too busy to share his burden, or note the tear he cries.
Too busy for all that’s holy on earth beneath the sky;
Too busy to serve the Master, but not too busy to die.
Jesus, always Jesus!

ALL ABOARD!
A short time before his death, Paul wrote, “…the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness…” (2 Tim. 4:6-8)
Our “departure” is also approaching. Are you ready? To make certain, consult the following “travel” information.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Arrangements must be made in advance, preferably today (2 Cor. 6:2).
PASSPORTS: Persons seeking entry will not be permitted past the gate without having appropriate credentials and having their names registered in the official book (Rev. 21:27).
DEPARTURE DATE AND TIME: The date of departure is unknown. All travelers are advised to be ready for immediate departure. (Matt. 25:13).
TICKETS: Jesus paid for your “ticket” on the cross. However, you must claim it by believing in Christ, repenting of sins, confessing Jesus, and having sins washed away at baptism (Acts 2:38; Matt. 10:32; Acts 22:16). Remember to hold on your "ticket" firmly (Heb. 3:6).
LUGGAGE: No checked or carry-on luggage is permitted (1 Tim. 6:7). Everything you require will be available upon arrival (1 Pet. 1:4).
MEANS OF TRAVEL: All travelers will be going by air (1 Thess. 4:17).
VACCINATIONS:  None needed, as there will be no disease or infection at your destination (Rev. 21:4).
CURRENCY:  Although no money is allowed on the trip (see "Luggage" above), non-perishable assets can be forwarded to await the passenger's arrival. Deposits are made by giving generously and serving others (Luke 6:38; Matt. 6:20-21).
CLOTHING: A dazzling and durable wardrobe will be provided (2 Cor. 5:2-4).
RESERVATIONS: The “Ticket Gate” is open 24/7. Since departure time is unknown, everyone should claim a ticket at once (See “Tickets” above.). Those that delay may be too late (2 Cor. 6:2).
FOR MORE INFORMATION, consult your Bible (Jam. 1:21).
Jesus, always Jesus!
