Dennis has been a full-time gospel preacher for 38 years, having preached in Michigan, Alabama, Georgia and Indiana.
As of mid-November 2021, Dennis will have preached for the church in Milan for 13 years.

Dennis is married to Brenda (Lawson), and they have four children between them.

Along with preaching the gospel, Dennis's favorite things to do include having quiet dinners with his wife, taking walks with Brenda, playing tennis and occasionally golf, participating in or listening to gospel quartets, and eating breakfast at McDonald's.
