Ten little Christians assembled in a line.
One disliked the preacher, then there were nine.
Nine little Christians stayed up very late.
One overslept on Sunday, then there were eight.
Eight little Christians marching on to Heaven.
One took a detour, then there were seven.
Seven little Christians singing out like chicks.
One disliked the song leader, then there were six.
Six little Christians were very much alive.
One soon lost interest, then there were five.
Five little Christians heading for Heaven's Shore.
One stopped to unwind, then there were four.
Four little Christians were busy as a bee.
One got his feelings hurt, then there were three.
Three little Christians praying in a pew.
One lost his faith, then there were two.
Two little Christians were barely hanging on.
Argued with each other, then there was one.
One little Christian can't do much 'tis true,
Brought his friend to worship, now there were two.
Two earnest Christians, each won one more.
That doubled the number, soon there were four.
Four sincere Christians worked hard and very late.
Each won another, then there were eight.
Eight splendid Christians, if they doubled as before,
In just a few months would number 1,024!
In this little jingle there is a lesson that is true --
We work for the building committee… or for the wrecking crew.
…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us… (Heb. 12:1)
Be a Light for Christ in 2025!
